How long does setup actually take?

Most teams have their first service emitting in under 10 minutes via the OpenTelemetry collector. There is no proprietary agent.

Do you sample traces?

Never on errors. Tail-based sampling on success, 100% on anything 4xx/5xx, slow, or anomalous. You see the bad ones, in full.

What about data residency?

Pro and Scale customers can pin storage to US, EU, or APAC regions. Scale customers can bring their own S3 bucket.

How is this different from Datadog?

Tessera is opinionated about the on-call workflow, prices by volume not host, and ships a real root-cause workflow — not just dashboards. We also will not surprise-bill you.
